You gotta love it. He’s 40 years old and still has a love for the game that most people would be lucky to feel once in their life. The All Star game may be a poorly run show, but it’s certainly a special moment for the newbies and the older players.

Of course Chipper got a hit in his only at-bat and now he’ll head back to Atlanta, where every fifth game is a scheduled off day (he is 40 years old after all). Before the game he said that this one was special to him because his kids would actually be able to remember it.

We make fun of a lot of people on this site but Chipper Jones won’t be one of them. So be thankful that the KC crowd didn’t boo him and let’s recognize the ending of an era.
